Impact Records was a California based record label run by CT Records creator,〔All Music (Tony Hilder )〕 Tony Hilder in the 1960s. This label released some surf records by The Crestwoods, Dave Myers And The Surf-Tones,〔45 Cat (Impact (Calif.) - Label Discography )〕 The Ramblers and The New Breed〔Global Dog Productions (45 Discography for Impact Records )〕 and The Revels.〔

==Background==
Formed in the 1960s, this Los Angeles-based record label was managed by Tony Hilder.〔Steve Rosen Writer Site (The Story Behind the Great Music in a 'Lost' Movie Classic About Los Angeles )〕 Among other things, Impact Records served as an outlet for masters that Hilder couldn't get released on other labels. A good deal of the material released was from local aspiring artists and bands of the Los Angeles area.〔The Encyclopedia of Popular Music: Grenfell, Joyce - Koller, Hans (Page 287 )〕
The first release on the label was "Church Key" by The Revels. The song was the first release for the label and credited to The Revels with Barbara Adkins.〔''Becoming the Beach Boys, 1961-1963'' by James B. Murphy (Page 260 )〕 The single was distributed nationally by Liberty Records but was issued under the banner of Impact to keep the identity of the label.〔Billboard November 28, 1960 (Page 26 ''Music As Written'', Page 28 ''Music As Written'' )〕 The Revels, a local Californian band who had been around since 1957〔Riot on Sunset Strip: Rock'N'Roll's Last Stand in Hollywood By Domenic Priore (Page 59 )〕 had 4 singles released on the label from 1960 to 1962 which included the single they were best known for "Church Key".〔〔All Music (The Revels Intoxica!!! The Best of the Revels )〕
Another artist that had a release on the label was Little Ray Jimenez in 1962 with "Shake! Soul! & Shout!" bw with "Soul Stomp!".〔iLatinoLA (Little Ray Jimenez Valentine Volo )〕 Also 1962, Rue Barclay had a release on the label. His history in recording went back to the late 1940s.〔Praguefrank's Country Music Discographies (Saturday, January 29, 2011 Rue Barclay by Dick Grant, Al Turner with acknowledgements to Adam Komorowski, Bill Daniels & Praguefrank )〕 His release was "I've Lost The Road" bw "Please Dear Won't You Stay".〔 The following year Barclay appeared in a low budget film, ''The Skydivers''.〔Southwest Shuffle by By Rich Kienzle (Page 216 )〕
One album that was produced by Hilder and released on the Impact label was called ''Shake! Shout! & Soul''. The recording for the album was done live at Santa Monica's 2nd Annual Surf Fair. It featured Lil Ray, The Original Surfaris, Dave Myers and the Surftones, The New Dimensions, Steve Korey and The Virtue Four.〔Surf Classics (Shake! Shout! & Soul! )〕〔Collectors Frenzy (Shake! Shout! & Soul! w/lil Ray ULTRA RARE 60s surf music LP (Impact) )〕〔Roots Vinyl Guide (RARE! Shake Shout & Soul Lil Ray, Surfaris Surftones etc. LIVE Impact LP#2 VHTF )〕
